Interview: Hair & Care in Mjölby takes the next step with Digmi
Hair & Care in Mjölby is a salon built on strong teamwork and a clear vision of continuous growth. Since opening in 2012, they have expanded into a team of nine hairdressers, and now they are taking the next step in their digital journey by strengthening their partnership with Digmi. We spoke with salon owner Hanna Malmén about their journey, unique salon culture, and what the future holds.
Tell us a little about yourself and your salon – what makes you unique, and what are you most proud of? Any goals or dreams for the future?
I’ve been running the salon since 2012 and hired my first hairdresser in 2017. Since then, we’ve grown into a team of nine! What makes us unique is definitely the bond we have within our team – we often hear that the great atmosphere we have spreads throughout the whole salon.
I’m also really proud of our space. It’s an old railway engine shed that we completely renovated from the ground up. It was in pretty bad shape when I took over, but now we’ve created something truly special!
Our focus has always been on growing and improving, both in education and in business. We’re always eager to get better, and we’d love to expand our presence on social media. We like to mix in a lot of humor in everything we do, and that seems to be something our customers really appreciate!
Why did you choose to have Digmi in your salon?
Digmi has made a big difference for us, especially after the pandemic. We saw that there was still a need to reduce physical contact surfaces, and replacing magazines with tablets just made sense. It’s clean, easy to sanitize, and at the same time, a much more modern experience for our customers!
When we first started using Digmi, it felt like a fresh start. It’s been a great way to digitize our salon without making any big changes to our daily routines.
What do your customers and colleagues think about using Digmi? Have they mentioned anything specific?
Customers really love being able to browse digital magazines while they wait or during their treatments. It feels modern and convenient for them! We haven’t started using Digmi as a payment system yet, but just the ability to combine entertainment with booking directly from the chair has been a great advantage.
For us hairdressers, it has also been really positive. It’s nice to be able to offer customers a more interactive experience, and we can see how quickly they’ve gotten used to using the tablets instead of traditional magazines.
